About MALFAKTOR
Formed in late 2005, Malfaktor is an Experimental-Industrial-Metal band from Huntington Beach, California. Malfaktor formed out of the ruins of their former band, Ritualistic Suicide, by its founders, lead singer/programmer Doug Cheek, former lead guitarist/synths/programmer Tim Miller, and bass/synths/programmer Larry Orban III. Malfaktor has currently risen to new heights, but only recently...
During most of 2006, they visualized what Malfaktor was at the time and also recorded approximately ten (10) songs, including the single "Dirty Faith", for their upcoming debut album, The Delay of the Inevitable. The band took a well needed break in the latter part of 2006, but in 2007, the band seemed to have changed a bit.
In 2007, Malfaktor continued creating new songs and rehearsing, but something undoubtfully had changed within the band. Cheek looked for a lead guitarist and back-up synth to ease the amount of work on Miller's shoulders and also to give the band more diversity in the music creation process. Lead guitarist Alex Beal and synth/programmer Max Ortega joined Malfaktor, but tension grew between the band. In mid-2007, Miller decided to leave the band for personal reasons.
Although the departure of Miller was somewhat devastating to Malfaktor, much was learned from him, and Malfaktor seemed to have never been stronger in late-2007. The band reworked, reinvented, and re-recorded all of the original previously recorded tracks, along with new material.
Malfaktor's debut album, The Delay of the Inevitable, was released on August 8, 2008. The band has received much praise and support for their efforts contributing to their success in 2008. Malfaktor will book shows through the rest of 2008 and well into 2009 to support their debut album, The Delay of the Inevitable. Go out and support your local bands!
