When you design your gig fliers (both paper, or online) please indicate what year the gig will take place. Please.
When you look at your fliers 10-20 years later (as a record, or keepsakes), you will get mad confused because you will not know the year of the gig. Memories fade, trust me.
This is also the same case for online fliers. I see a lot of band members saying "Come to our show~!!" but we are not sure if that web page is current or 2 years old.
As you know, a lot of garage band websites are not active. Visitors cannot trust what they see online. They want some kind of assurance that they are not looking at last year's show schedule.
Anybody agree with me should add a short comment below.
I need your band reviews, please use this forum to write your reviews. You will be given with a proper writer's credit. Feel free to upload pictures as well.
I am happy to know that a lot of veteran underground bands are searchable online. Some bands are completely untraceable, but some of them have adopted new technology & left their foot prints. I crossed my fingers and searched "Spiders & Snakes" and I found the video of "Public Enemy Number One" This is my favorite Spiders and Snakes song. You know, this song was written, partially, by the original member of Spiders & Snakes.
I remember that day vividly. It was around 2001 when I went to Key club. It was a Glam night (Revlon Red was in the lineup). Tim, the drummer from Spiders and Snakes gave me the CD - "Public Enemy Number One". We even took a picture together with my film camera.
Tim was a drummer from Spiders & Snakes. But at that time, he was helping out Sisters Grimm with drums. I wonder how Sisters Grimm is doing. I remember visiting their drummer's house in the Valley before she quit Sisters Grimm.
Public Enemy Number One is a high quality rock song. Good time.
Anyway, Tim, if you see this, email me. Let me know if you are still in Hollywood.

Who can be listed in HollywoodBands.com?
Only the quality bands will be listed. Some bands are obviously superior in quality. Those bands will be listed without any questions. But, there are a bunch of "wannabe's". I cannot list wannabe's here.
Introduction - how to post picture, change font... This is a Drupal website. If you know Drupal, you are in luck. Even if you are new to this, you should do OK.
I try not to list bands outside of Hollywood area (Southern California). But It's hard to refuse services to hard working bands when they take effort to ask for a listing.
If the website grows, I am going to have to enforce "Hollywood Bands Only" rule. or come up with some other way to promote bands from outside of Hollywood.
After re-launching HollywoodBands.com, I finally joined MySpace.com. There was a small learning curve. I was a little confused about how I navigate the website.
Then I quickly discovered that a lot of band members are still rocking in Hollywood after 7-10 years. I thought all those guys would simply disappear after a few years. But a lot of them are now becoming some kind of underground legend. I was impressed.
Rebel Rebel, White Trash Debutantes, Spiders And Snakes, and all of them are still very much active. Now I can watch their videos at YouTube.
As a web developer, I was too busy working on database & shopping carts. I never paid attention to MySpace. I had no idea how "Band Friendly" MySpace was.
Anyway, I found a bunch of band members at MySpace that I knew a long time ago. I announced to them that HollywoodBands.com is back up.
About a dozen people already became my friends. This is fun.
Internet is an amazing thing. I never imagined I would live to see the day like this. Queeny Blast Pop was my favorite Hollywood underground band back in the 90's.
Over 10 years later, I typed in "Queeny Blast Pop" at YouTube... and what did I see? I saw series of Queeny Blast Pop videos from Coconut Teaszer. Not only that, I was at that gig~!
I chatted with the youtube member (my youtube ID is hollywoodmemoir)
I bought the domain name 'HollywoodBand.com' 10 years ago. Then I purchased 'HollywoodBands.com' 9 years ago.
I was never able to tidy up this website as I wanted... there was not enough resource on Internet technology at that time.
Since than I moved away from Los Angeles County and became a wedding photographer in Ventura County. I still check out the bands in Hollywood but not as much.
Oh, I earned BS degree in Computer Information System.
